This is my go to place to get breakfast before work. They are local, friendly and make quick, fresh, homemade food at a fair price.

The breakfast burrito is my favorite. They have amazing, enormous muffins. The lunch time menu is also fresh, big portions and a nice escape from the fast food options.

The guys who work there know people's names and orders. They really make this place standout.

I Definitely feel good about getting food here instead of one of the chain places that pollute downtown.

One of the best sandwich spots in DTX. Incredibly kind staff, phenomenal sandwiches, and you get to support local business!

Cannot go wrong here; whether it is the Porky's Dream (OR Nightmare), the Green Monstah, or the Sirachin... all are excellent.

Best quick lunch spot in the area. I've worked all over DTX, but currently have the privilege of being right in the 101 Arch building, allowing easy access to Grass Roots for breakfast and lunch whenever I'd like. The menu has a lot of variety, which is great. The turkey reuben is my go-to, but I have enjoyed many of the wraps and salads as well.Keep an eye out for their fresh chocolate chip cookies, which are amazing warm (if you miss them warm, stick them in your office microwave for 20 seconds and thank me later).

Everything is fresh, made to order, made quickly, and it is all topped off with wonderfully friendly service.

I added Grass Roots Cafe to my list of places to try as soon as I became acquainted the Korean side of their menu, beside the more basic sandwich and salads of the general neighborhood.

My original intention for this visit, however, was to try their Gobbler sandwich since I have a thing for cranberry sauce and perusing their reviews convinced me that their Korean options may be spicier than I prefer.

But it being summer and all, the Gobbler was off the menu and the closest thing I could see to it was the Chick-a-Melt $8.41 ($9 after tax) (chicken salad, mozzarella, avocado, cranberry sauce & mayonnaise), so I went with that.

The owner was nice.  He asked the workers to express my order once he realized I had ordered it in advance and it wasn't ready when I got there.  He offered me a sample of their Korean marinated meat - spicy and non-spicy - so I discovered that yes, the spicy is indeed too spicy for me.  Their pastries, however, are from this place in Watertown that I've heard of before, Danish Pastry House, with the exception of the muffins which they bake themselves.

This little spot is located on the ground floor right by the Summer Street entrance of 101 Arch Street, which is the same building which houses Central Bistro.

In the lobby of 101 Arch Street just outside of Pret A Manger, I noticed that there were 4 tables set aside for patrons of the building.  So I made use of one as I enjoyed my lunch.  The sandwich was pretty good, though it was a bit skimpy on the cranberry sauce.  Turkey would have been better, but this was fine for what it was.

Really good and stuffed sandwich from an unsuspecting hole in the wall of 101 Arch St. I couldn't hold back from having my Green Monstah before the picture, but as you can see it's plenty to fill you up with chicken salad, bacon, turkey, and avocado. Also helps that I got it through a deal on Ritual so the sandwich and chips were only $7.42! Definitely looking forward to going back and trying their Korean influenced foods.

I must admit I'm a little thrown off by the name as it makes you think it's another super healthy or salad spot. Don't be fooled, this place will give you some big time sandwiches.
